Description – If you have the active process windows-update.exe running on your machine then there is a very good chance that you have been infected by the Aozo worm. This worm uses popular file sharing and peer to peer applications in order to infect poorly protected machines, or systems with no adequate security settings.

Once the worm has downloaded to your machine it will begin attempting to hide itself, spread to other machines, turning off security software, and enabling access to your drives by third parties. The worm creates a number of copies of itself within the system folders and also within the shared files folder that belong to file sharing applications. In order to protect itself Aozo will also attempt to disable your security software and even attempt to remove vital files belonging to antivirus, antispyware, and firewall applications.

Recommended Solution – The simplest and quickest solution is to fully remove Aozo and all of its components from your system.
