Problem with
Sonic.exe?
Title
– sonic.exe
Description – The sonic spyware worm uses the sonic.exe
process in order to run whenever you start your Windows system.
Once the Sonic worm has infected the users computer and added
registry entries to ensure it runs on startup it will download
various snippets of code from the Internet. This code is used to
spread further through networks and over the Internet but it can
also be used to grant third parties access to your system.
Once a
computer is infected it can potentially be access by remote,
unauthorized users. It may lead to the theft or leaking of
sensitive personal information. This can include usernames and
passwords stored in cookies, prefilled form data, and any
information stored on your system that is not password protected
or securely encrypted.
Associated
Errors – An error message with incorrect content will be
displayed when starting your system and routinely throughout the
time you use your system. You may experience a dip in
performance from your whole system as well as from specific
files and applications.
Recommended Solution – Either disable the sonic.exe process
and remove any associated files or use an antispyware
application to fully scan your system and remove sonic.exe and
any other components of the Sonic worm that exist on your
