Title – exe.exe

Description – The exe.exe process belongs to a premium rate adult dialer. When installed on your system this dialer will attempt to connect to various premium rate phonelines in order to download adult orientated content. The most common way for a system to be infected by this is visiting pornographic sites. The dialer may be installed with the user's consent or accidentally but it will regularly attempt to contact premium rate numbers.

While these premium rate dialers have become less of a problem over broadband connections they can still be a problem for users still reliant on a dialup connection. The dialer will attempt to make a connection with the premium number and will remain connected until terminated, often running up a large bill as a consequence.

Associated Errors – The most common symptom of having a premium rate dialer installed on your system is that it will continually attempt to connect to the Internet using a premium rate phone number. You may also see adult based icons and links on your desktop and in your program lists.

Recommended Solution – Remove the dialer to prevent accidental connection to premium rate numbers. There should be an uninstall application link within the program folders, but failing this it may be possible to remove the dialer using your Windows add/remove program utility.
