Problem with bitcomet.exe?

Title – bitcomet.exe

Description – bitcomet.exe may be a component of the Tibick worm that spreads via file sharing networks, or it may be a startup process belonging to the BitComet software. The Tibick worm is spread predominantly through file sharing applications. Initially it will install a copy of itself within  the system folder and then create another folder on your system entitled MSView and copy renamed versions of itself into this folder. Tibick is designed to alter the settings of many popular file sharing applications so that they use this newly created MSView folder as the standard shared folder.

The BitComet file sharing application does use a startup process titled bitcomet.exe, which launches the application whenever you start your computer. In order to determine whether the copy of the file and the startup process are genuine users should first locate the file. If it is found within the MSView folder then it is mire than likely an indication that your system has been infected with the Tibick worm.

Associated Errors – There are few errors associated with the Tibick worm. Symptoms to look for if you believe you have been infected include the addition of the MSView folder and the forced alteration of file sharing application settings. The most common way for users to determine that they have been infected with Tibick is through an antivirus scan.
