Problem with
adware.exe?
Title
– adware.exe
Description
– The Mugly.f worm is the most common reason that a computer has
the adware.exe process running. It is highly unlikely that
simple disabling or removing this process will help to beat this
spyware worm and care should be taken to ensure its removal as
soon as possible. Like most worms the Mugly.F also referred to
as the Wurmark worm, spreads via email. By using its own SMTP
engine it is able to send a copy of itself to everyone in your
email contact book and subsequently infect their computers.
As well as forwarding itself to all of your contacts this worm
will attempt to install a variant of the Spybot worm on your
system and infected computers may also suffer the symptoms of
this infection.
Associated Errors
– adware.exe will attempt to connect to the Internet using its
own SMTP engine. If you have a firewall installed on your system
then you may receive warning messages pertaining to this. In
this event you should prevent access to the Internet.
Recommended Solution
– Update the antispyware software on your computer and run a
full scan. Clean or remove any files or processes that are
discovered in order to cleanse your system of this spyware worm.
This should ensure that the Mugly.f worm and all of its
components, including adware.exe, are fully removed from your
system.
